Proposition B is a bond renewal that allows the Fire Protection District to continue replacing and maintaining fire trucks, ambulances, and critical
life‐saving equipment. It ensures the District can keep emergency resources reliable, safe, and ready when residents call 911.
No. Proposition B is a no‐tax‐increase bond renewal. The existing tax rate remains the same.
A bond is a voter-approved way to pay for major public safety equipment over time instead of all at once. A bond renewal keeps the current bond in place so equipment can continue to be replaced,
without raising the tax rate.
Fire apparatus and emergency equipment have a limited service life. This bond renewal allows the District to responsibly replace aging equipment before it becomes unreliable, unsafe, or too costly to maintain.
Reliable, modern equipment helps ensure firefighters and paramedics can respond safely, quickly, and effectively to emergencies throughout the community.
Bond funds may be used only for major capital purchases such as fire apparatus, ambulances, life‐saving medical equipment, and related emergency infrastructure.
Bond funds cannot be used for salaries, benefits, staffing, pensions, or daily operating expenses.
The Fire District does not receive casino revenue or funding from the City of Maryland Heights. Emergency services are funded through voter-approved taxes and bonds dedicated specifically to public safety.
Past Proposition B funds have been used
exactly as approved by voters to purchase
and maintain fire apparatus, equipment, and facilities critical to emergency response. All bond expenditures are overseen by the Fire District Board,
governed by state law, publicly reported,
and subject to regular audits.
